Portage Central started the game well and generated a number of chances early, but Lowell Caledonia adjusted their approach and started using their size to play a physical game.
While the physical lead to eight penalties for L/C and eight powerplays for Portage Central, the powerplay was unable to score and Lowell/Caledonia continue to take full advantage.
After a scoreless first, L/C capitalized on a defensive turnover and scored the first goal of the game. The scored a second goal in the next few minutes as the physical play carried on.
Lowell was able to score their third goal, a power play goal, in the final period. PC finished the game with 22 shots on goal. For the Mustangs, Bryan Gracey finished with 20 saves on 23 shots.
