Five Mustangs scored with defenseman Kobe Vincent leading the way with 4 points as the Portage Central Mustangs beat Kalamazoo United by a score of 8-2.
The Mustangs jumped out to a 4-0 lead on goals by seniors Davin Renda and Derek Hesse and Juniors Max Mones and Kobe Vincent. United pushed back as James Amat and Jacob Remelius each scored bringing the score back to 4-2. The two United goals were scored 90 seconds apart. The Mustangs answered by adding four more goals by Mones, Sophomore Mitchell Ely, Renda, and Senior Connor Koryto.
Senior goalie Austin Reaume faced 25 shots and earned the win. United goaltenders Tyler Lajiness took the loss and combimed with Mitch Kihm to face 36 shots.
Vincent finished the game with a goal and three assists and Renda finished with 2 goals and an assist.

The Mustangs take the ice on Monday for the annual Portage Rotary Scholarship Classic versus the Portage Northern Huskies at Wings Stadium starting at 6pm. The event typically draws 2,000 fans and is a fundraiser for the Kalamazoo Rotary Club. Admission is $5.
